Why now

The best time is the time you have

There is a particular beauty in an older dog. The soft grey coming in around the muzzle, the eyes that have watched over your family for years, the gentle wisdom in the way they carry themselves. It deserves to be remembered properly, not just in phone snaps.

Life with a senior dog can change quickly, and the moments that feel ordinary now are the ones you treasure most later. A photoshoot is a warm way to celebrate the years you have shared. This is a celebration, not a goodbye. If your situation is more time-sensitive, our memorial pet photography is here too, and you are welcome to get in touch so we can help.

A calm, controlled studio suits older dogs far better than a busy park. The lighting is soft and flattering on a greying coat, and there are no off-lead surprises or long walks to tire them out. For younger, bouncier dogs, our studio dog photography is built the same gentle way.

A gentle pace

Built for the pace of an older dog

Our Deanside home studio is quiet and unhurried, which is exactly what a senior or less-mobile dog needs. We let your dog set the tempo, and we plan the whole session around their comfort.

01

Settle in slowly

Your dog arrives to a calm room with no other pets or walk-ins around. There is no rush, we simply let them relax and get comfortable first.

02

Breaks whenever needed

We handle older dogs gently, pause as often as they need, and are happy to work with low, ground-level and lying-down poses so nobody has to strain or stand for long.

03

Pick your favourites

Your edited, high-resolution images arrive in a private online gallery within 10-14 business days, and you choose the ones that capture your dog best.

A gentle walk beforehand, their favourite treats, and a soft blanket from home all help an older dog feel at ease. Our guide on preparing your dog for a photoshoot has more simple tips.

Senior dog photoshoot questions

Is a studio session ok for an older or less mobile dog?
Yes. Our Deanside home studio is calm, quiet and unhurried, which suits senior and less-mobile dogs well. There are no other pets or walk-ins around, we take as many breaks as your dog needs, and we can work with low, ground-level and lying-down poses so your dog never has to strain.
What if my senior dog can't do much?
That is completely fine. Some of the most beautiful portraits are simply an older dog resting, looking up at you, or lying calmly on a soft backdrop. We follow your dog's lead, keep the session gentle, and capture the quiet character you love rather than asking for tricks or big action.
How much does it cost?
Senior dog photography starts from A$375 for a 45-minute single-dog session with 10 edited digital images. A two-dog session is A$475 and a three-dog session A$575, both 60 minutes. Full details are on our pricing page.
When do I get the photos?
Your edited high-resolution digital images are delivered via a private online gallery within 10-14 business days of your session. You choose your favourites, and extra images can be purchased if you would like more.
