Meet Josh & Steph
We're the two people behind Paw Prints Melbourne, a small pet photography studio run out of a cozy home space in Deanside, in Melbourne's west.
We started Paw Prints because we love animals and we love the photos that actually look like them: the real head-tilt, the goofy grin, the calm old soul. Everything about the way we run a session is built around getting your pet comfortable enough to be themselves in front of the camera.
A studio built around your pet's pace
Over the past couple of years we've photographed more than fifty dogs & cats here in our Deanside studio. Some come bouncing through the door ready for anything. Others need a good ten minutes just to decide the place is safe. Both are completely normal, and both get the time they need.
That's the whole idea. Because it's a home studio, we let them explore, we hang back, and we wait for the moments that actually capture who they are. Treats, breaks and a bit of play do most of the work. We just give a patient, safe space for their personalities to shine.
We provide everything on the day: backdrops chosen to suit your pet, studio lighting, and props. You bring your pet, their favourite treats, and anything personal you'd like in the shots: a well-loved collar, a bandana, a favourite toy. If you've got questions before you arrive, ask us anything; and when you visit, Steph and Josh are happy to talk through ideas before we start shooting.
Within 48 hours, you will receive a private online gallery to choose your favourites, and if you can't bear to leave any behind, extra images are available too. Your edited, high-resolution images then land in your gallery a few days later, for you to enjoy for years to come.
