Puppy photography Melbourne before they grow up

The tiny paws, the milk teeth, the ears that haven't decided which way to point: puppyhood is over in a blink. At our cozy Deanside home studio we photograph puppies at their own wriggly pace, so you keep the version of them you'll miss the most.

Why now

The puppy phase doesn't wait

Puppies change week to week. The session that captures those enormous paws and that first proper head-tilt can only happen in a narrow window, and then it's gone. A relaxed studio session, built around naps and zoomies rather than fighting them, is the kindest way to hold onto it.

01

Explore first

Your puppy gets to sniff around and settle in. No other animals, no busy waiting room, just a calm space to get comfortable.

02

Short, playful bursts

We shoot in little bursts with breaks for treats, cuddles and the inevitable nap-attack. The wriggly moments often make the best photos.

03

Keep the memory

Edited, high-resolution images arrive in a private online gallery within 10-14 business days: puppyhood, preserved.

Not sure when to book? Our guide on the best age to photograph your puppy breaks down each stage. And for practical prep (grooming, treats, timing) see preparing your dog for a photoshoot.

"5 Stars from Millie! Our experience with Paw Prints Melbourne was absolutely pawsome and so professional from start to finish! Josh and Steph were amazing from the get-go, they made me feel super welcomed and calm throughout the entire photoshoot. The photos aren't just pictures, they're beautiful memories to treasure forever!"

"Couldn't recommend more highly, was such a fun afternoon doing the shoot and even cooler getting the photos sent through after! The guys did such a good job getting our extremely ADHD GSP to stay still long enough to get some awesome and unique shots!"

Puppy photoshoot questions

What is the best age to photograph a puppy?
There is no single perfect age: each stage has its charm, from the tiny milk-teeth weeks to the gangly teenage months. If you want to capture the smallest-puppy look, earlier is better, but a session at any age makes lovely portraits. Our guide on the best age to photograph your puppy walks through each window.
What if my puppy won't sit still?
That is completely normal and we plan for it. Puppy sessions run in short bursts with plenty of breaks, treats and play. Some of the best shots come from the wriggly, curious moments rather than a perfect sit.
How much does a puppy photoshoot cost in Melbourne?
Puppy photography packages start from A$375 for a 45-minute single-puppy session including 10 edited digital images. If you have a litter or more than one puppy, our two-puppy session is A$475 and three-puppy session A$575.
What should I bring to a puppy session?
Bring your puppy's favourite treats, a toy that grabs their attention, and any props or outfits you would like in the photos. Backdrops, lighting and props are provided at the studio. A little hunger for treats helps keep their focus.
When do I get the photos?
Your edited, high-resolution digital images are delivered through a private online gallery within 10-14 business days of the session. You choose your favourites, and extra images can be purchased if you want more.
